This year’s festivities — running from noon to 6, with the structured program taking place from 2 to 3 p.m. — will be a family-friendly potluck at the home/farm of Loser Robin Diallo, who’s inviting Invite fans of all ages to see the horses, goats, mini-ponies, llamas, and even a couple of peacocks, along with the usual Flushies festitivies of eating, schmoozing, awarding, and singing parodies written for the occasion. Door prizes are almost inevitable.
As are all NRARS events, the Flushies are open to all Invitational contestants, fans, critics, shills, lurkers, mutually codependent enablers, wannabes, and guests. (This is the Losers’ own thing; it's not sponsored by The Post, though The Post sends its regards.)
The Empress will be there but probably will not jump out of a cake. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with other Losers, but don't let that stop you. And it is a potluck, like the annual holiday party; show off your culinary skills, but don't make us laugh about them. Some soft drinks will be provided, but feel free to BYOB.
LOCATION: Lothian, Md., in southern Anne Arundel County (address will be provided when you RSVP; if we don't yet know you, we might chat with you a bit first).
COST: Your dignity, $5 to cover our incidentals (hopefully no incident-dentals), and whatever BYOB you bring. Some soft drinks will be provided.
We are limited to 60 people at this event. Please RSVP at elden.carnahan@gmail.com, then reserve your spot with your check ($5 per person) to Elden Carnahan, 327 Montgomery St., Laurel MD 20707. And also let the Empress know you'll be coming, so that she can work up some extra haughtiness just for you.
