SAMPLE WORDS FOR WEEK 1086

Loser Jeff Contompasis has sent in a list of 11,355 twelve-letter words for your use, misuse, and abuse. Be advised they are probably drawn from a British source, as there are many words ending in "-ise", "ised", "ising", and "isation".

But that's too many look at all at once, so for your amusement we have devised this downloadable Excel spreadsheet that presents, randomly, 20 words at a time, every time you press the "Calculate Now" button on the "Formualas" tab. If you are not using Office 2013 yet, you'll have to figure out how to manually recalculate.

There are also columns showing the results of randomly dropping a letter, adding one, and switching two, as required for this contest. We do not expect any ink-worthy formulations to appear -- we did this for our own amusement (there is a bug in the "Switch two" column, which we may try to fix if we feel like it).

As always, a word of warning to new Devotees: it is possible that the Empress will notice that this spreadsheet exists, and she may think that, since we have saved you the drudgery of finding 12-letter words, you now have time to turn in very superior work.
